Topkapı Palace Combined Tickets

“Combined ticket” means two different things at Topkapı, and this page covers both honestly: the palace + Harem combination — the one that actually exists as a single ticket, because the Harem is a separate admission at the gate — and the Topkapı + Hagia Sophia day, which is two neighbouring monuments booked separately, not one bundle voucher.

Palace + Harem, one booking

The genuine Topkapı combined ticket: guided tour with the palace entry ticket and the Harem add-on included — the two admissions the palace sells separately, in a single reservation with a licensed guide.

Topkapı and Hagia Sophia — the classic pairing

Topkapı Palace and Hagia Sophia stand a few minutes apart on the same historic headland, and most first-time visitors see both in one day. There is no single ticket that covers the two — they are run by different authorities — so the honest way to buy the day is one booking per monument. For Hagia Sophia, our fleet’s dedicated Hagia Sophia tickets site sells skip-the-line entry and tours from the same licensed agency. The rhythm that works: Hagia Sophia at opening while it’s quiet, then Topkapı from late morning — the palace absorbs three to four hours once the Harem is in the plan.

Building the day around the combination

Two timing rules make the combined day work. First, mind the closures: Topkapı is closed on Tuesdays and Hagia Sophia limits visitor entry around Friday midday prayers, so the ideal combination days are Wednesday through Monday, planned around Friday morning. Second, give the palace the bigger slot — with the Harem included it fills three to four hours, where Hagia Sophia’s visitor gallery takes about one. If you’d rather keep the palace self-paced and spend the saved budget elsewhere, all four tour formats are compared on the guided tours page. A full hour-by-hour version of the classic day is on our sibling guide’s one day in Sultanahmet itinerary.

What about the Istanbul museum passes?

Worth checking, but read the fine print: Topkapı Palace is operated by the Directorate of National Palaces, not the Ministry museums directorate, so city museum passes do not automatically include it — several popular passes cover Ministry sites only, and passes never include guiding. Confirm Topkapı (and the Harem, specifically) is on a pass’s current attraction list before you buy one on the strength of the palace. If Topkapı with the Harem is the anchor of your visit, the combined guided tour above is the predictable option: both admissions confirmed for your date, all fees included.

How the combined booking works

One order, one email, one meeting point. Your confirmation and mobile ticket arrive the moment payment completes; on the day, your guide handles both the palace admission and the Harem entry — nothing to exchange at a booth, nothing to print. Every price on this site is shown with all fees included and equals what you pay at checkout; the full table, including the hosted fast-track entry and the private option, is on the ticket prices page. Planning the wider day — hours, the Tuesday closure, how to get to Sultanahmet — is covered by the independent Topkapı Palace visitor guide.

    Immersive historical experience

One of the most impressive monuments to visit — you could easily spend four hours exploring it. Be prepared for lots of walking! It's filled with artifacts, rooms and history. I visited twice and each time discovered something new, yet there were still areas I didn't get to. Skipping the queue is definitely worth it.

    Deep dive into Ottoman history

Ekim was an awesome guide — very knowledgeable and courteous. We had a small-group private tour and he was generous sharing all kinds of details about the Ottoman empire: their lifestyle, the palace, the court practices and more. Definitely recommend the skip-the-line tour at Topkapi, and wear comfy shoes — there's a lot of walking!
